802.11 IEEE的主要首席，也是無線網路之父，同時也是Open Hardware的主要負責人。
Harald Welte (Linux kernel developer / OpenPCD)
Linux Kernel領域的重量級開發者，也是OpenPCD計畫的主要負責人。
Pradeepto Bhattachary - member of the KDE project
KDE上教育軟體的開發者。
Juergen Neumann (initiator of the freifunk.net project)
在柏林freifunk.net計畫的初始元老。
Sean Moss-Pultz (CEO) OpenMoko
這是想要在建立一個Open source平台的手機，也是目前很知名的Open source專案。

freifunk.net (wireless community from Germany)
德國wireless community的主要啟發者，成立了十五年之久，也帶動了德國許多無線網路的成長和其他communities。
OpenWRT (open development platform for embedded systems)
主要是開發一個embedded system的開發平台。
B.A.T.M.A.N. (wireless meshing protocol)
這是2007年才剛正式release的wireless meshing network的protocol，主要是建立起Mobile Ad-Hoc的wireless environment。

OpenPattern (project founded by professors and students who advocate open devices for IT education)
這是一群由法國學生和教授發起的一個計畫，主要是想要有一個Open Hardware能讓學校進行一些IT方面的教育，例如Open Router的計畫，就是讓大家學習如何使用iptables或怎麼架設防火牆等。
IICD (European-based non-profit organization that specialises in ICT as a tool for development in 3rd world countries)
這是歐洲的ICT (information and communication technology)公司，這是一個公益的基金會，主要是幫忙第三世界國家的開發。
oneVillage (USA-based non-profit organization providing access to ICT technologies in African countries)
這是美國的ICT (information and communication technology)公司，這是一個公益的基金會，主要是幫忙非洲的開發。

ASUS (Taiwan-based hardware manufacturer that for example produces the Eee PC; ASUS has been a very strong supporter of GNU/Linux and looks to open their products in order to create a strong community around the Eee PC)
ASUS是一間在台灣製造Eee PC的硬體廠商，也十分支持GNU/Linux的精神，並且嘗試開放他們的產品以建立一個十分活躍的Eee PC社群。
Xandros (Canadian Linux distribution providing the OS for Eee PC)
這是Eee PC OS的負責公司，也是加拿大另外一套的Linux distribution
